Beachbody Insanity....PART 2 - April 20, 2011, 10:45 AM

So I started a Insanity thread back in Oct 2010. Its 2011 and its time to get it in again.

Started on Monday (4/18/2011) and completed 3rd day today. I am hoping this can be a motivation thread for those who are really wanting to drop some pounds and become more fit.

Post up good eating habits and what you are doing to get in shape for the summer.

Please no thread crapping...trying to keep it positive.

I started 186lb monday...I will update daily new weight/bmi results. 5'7 football player build(thick legs, and arms). I was 165 when I graduated high school and brews and too much college eating out threw the lbs on.

LOOKING TO ACHIEVE

165lbs and some good BMI.
Stronger but lean....not looking for the bent in arms

ME in 2007(about 170 or so)

Me in 2011(about 185...been right there for a good while)

WHO IS DOWN? Get on some workout plan and post results....good ways to burn that gut.

Me = 93/7 turkey, chicken, fish, beans, veggies, lean 93% beef, salad(person made...most restaurants salads are bad for you..if you dont know)

DCsportbikes.net.....how many lbs can we loose in 3 months....lets set a goal.

Ah good stuff. Glad to see you are back at it. Let me know when you want to come in and do a leg or back workout with me. Definitely will help with strengthening that lower back area. I know after I had my back surgery I dreaded getting back in the gym.

I just started P90x a week ago...will continue to do Zumba, which I always do twice a week. I'm not good with diets but I'm gonna try the 17 day diet with a meetup group. I stay within 1800 to 2000 calories a day. I'm trying to tighten up and loose 20 lbs.

I heard Insanity is INSANE...GLWT.

2000 isn't that much when you break it down in protein and carbs and fat...my current caloric intake is 3800-4200 which includes a 40/40/20 break down and always me to put on 1.5-2lbs of weight per week. It also depends on how active you are and your metabolism.

I did 2 rounds of P90X, it was pretty good stuff. No weight to lose, I'm just looking to gain some muscle mass. Used protein bars / powder and still at the same weight, though I do think I have better muscle tone. Might try insanity, you recommend I assume.

Shit, a lot for you but not me. My doc provided me a healthy diet plan when I sprained my knee and ankle, so I wouldn't put on too much weight and 1800 to 2000 calories is what was recommended.

There are days I eat up to 2000 calories breaking them into 5 meals when I'm going to work out. I'm not bones and my plan works just right for me.

Its not that much for me. My goal is not to put on any lbs and it seems to be working for me!!

Muscle Mass = some fat mass as well. Depending on your insulin sensitivity, adrenal system, thyroid system, the amount of fat will vary.

Insanity/P90x etc = Weight loss and muscle endurance AND overall muscle loss with a caloric deficit. Short lived muscle gain with caloric equilibrium. Body weight, plyos not enough to induce major hypertrophy.

Understand that with any diet and workout you will loose 1lb of muscle with every 3lbs of fat. You may get "stronger" because you're already de-conditioned. You will gain endurance but don't confuse that with strength since you will reduce fast twitch muscle fiber.

In essence pick your battles while trying out any diets or workout programs.
