The Best Internet Weather Site - April 3, 2008, 12:26 PM

... I've tried a lot of them. Even used the Deskop Weather program (that you pay for each year) from weatherchannel.com.

The best site I've found is: http://www.wunderground.com/

Reasons:

- Accurate
- Detailed
- Gives chance of precipitation
- Good radar
- Allows you to put in a date and get the average weather for that date for the last 14 years ... (awesome)
- Make a "flyer" you can hang up for that day if you want to print it out
- 5 day detailed forecast that includes % chance of precipitation
- FREE!

Only Con: Doesn't give a 10 day forecast

- Rat

Yep...that's the one I've been using the past few years.

Agree...been using this site for years for international travel forecast. Lately, I've been using it for local and love it.

Thanks. I've found weather.com is only useful for knowing what it is like outside when you're in an office with no windows.

I still want to get my morning forecast from Jackie Guerrido.

I like weather.com for the interactive map with radar. None of the sites are showing that it is currently sleeting in Leesburg.

My only problem with WunderGround is that they tend to under estimate the temp. I will typically see 5 degress warmer than they predict.

They are much better than Weather.com, less ads and no pop-ups

Weatherbug.com. Best way to get your weather. You download a little tool to your desktop. No spyware, no reporting back on habits but you do see banner ads when open. Otherwise it sits in the tool bar. Since I am a pilot I have to be current on the weather and it's the best I have seen.

I'm looking for the one with a weather machine. Just dial in you desired temperature and humidity setting for your area and click.

There is only one great source for weather, and that is National Weather Service. They do all the work, and all the other sites, as well as your TV weatherman, just rehash what they read from government data and reports.

So, if you like the interface of one vs another go with that one. It's all about the same. But here is where they get their information from: http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/graphical/sectors/
