Best place for airline tickets while not getting screwed? - August 21, 2007, 08:04 PM

I need to book tickets to Valencia for the GP. I remember on the news recently that one of the common online companies has received a ton of complaints and I would like to avoid having my tickets disappear.

I want to hear some good and bad experiences.

what I perfer to do is to find the best rates I can online using mobissmo.com

From there I call up the actually air line and get the tickets from them, I tell them the price I found and where I found it I ask them to match or beat the price.

I always feel better buying direct.

ditto. I use the search engines to find my fare then buy directly from the source. Overbooking seems like standard practice for the airlines, so I'd rather be able to say "uh, buddy, I bought and confirmed this ticket directly through your airline not some shatner-hiring reservation chop shop" if they tried to bump me. Then again, I've always bought direct, and it's never come up. Maybe some connection there.

Use your credit card to make the purchase. Most credit cards have insurance against loss.

I always use this site - they get all their revenue from ads so they just transfer you to the airline's site purchase the ticket.
