Blackberry help please - July 14, 2009, 12:42 PM

Hey guys. Just got my buddy's old Blackberry Pearl sent up from Atl. He got the new iPhone, so I took his hand-me-down.

His was on TMobile. I am currently with USCellular.

I take it to the store today and they tell me it can't work on their network.

Is this true? Or are they simply not willing to do it?

Unlock or something?

Thanks for any assitance you can provide. I'd really like to use this thing.

Right up the 1 hole.

US Cellular are they Cellular one? Does your BlackBerry use a simcard? Does it run on GSM network? Unlocking the Tmobile Blackberry is easy, just trying to figure out if you use a simcard with US Cellular one. Do you use data plan also or just phone?

I unlock BlackBerrys

Just sent you a PM before I saw this.

USCell guy said they don't even use SIM cards, and he threw around the GSM stuff, but I don't know what that means.

As of now I don't have the data plan, but obviously will get it if the phone works.

I would unlock the pearl and then sell it on craigslist. Unlock phone sells for higher price.

BlackBerry trick and tips:

For those with camera phones on their BlackBerrys. When you snap a picture you hear the shutter sound. Now you can kinda turn it off.

Call your voicemail
lower the volume
hit escape key
select your camera and snap away

Don't forget to turn the volume back up when your done.

My camera is my left shortcut key
