Blackberry Users - New Bolt v1.6 Browser Available w/Default Browswer Capability - December 9, 2009, 03:23 PM

This one lets you set Bolt as the default browser so you can override BB native browser (which sux until they come out with the new Safari like version early next year.)

Bolt is sweet because it faster than BB's browser. It pre-renders pages on their server then sends you the completed page instead of rendering it on the device

It acts like a regular computer web browwer too. You can:

- Download files like a regular browser
- Play flash embedded video in the page (like Youtube)
- Capture & Save pictures on webpages
- Does a much better "desktop" view than the standard browser.

(Just enter a junk email and name and the page will let you download)

And to make it your default browser, go to the bottom of this page and download the launched plug-in:

Download apps for free here.

What Apps do you use?
Apps I have:

Vlingo (Voice control and dictation of the BB - look for the free 2.0 version cause they disabled a lot of features in the free 2.1 version to make you pay for the upgrade).

Ubertwitter (if you use Twitter)

Facebook 1.7

Capture It (Does screen captures of anything on the BB screen)

Blackberry Messenger 5.0

Google Maps

File Scout (File Manager)

Quick Pull (Allows you to do a soft reset w/o pulling the battery. It's good to do this once a week or sso just to clear the cache and free-up memory that certain applications like to "eat" and never give back even after you shut them down. It keeps everything running nicely.)

MaxMem (removes all the preinstalled bullshit and worthless apps and themes you'll probably never use - be careful because some aftermarket themes you use may need the preinstalled theme as the base.)

Berry Unit Converter (Handy little unit conversion app)

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

- Nicolo Machiavelli 1469-1527
