BMW Leather seat split at the seam! Warranty Covered? - May 12, 2008, 01:38 PM

My 2004 325i passenger seat has torn at the seam. It's a clean split right across where the stitching runs along where the passenger would rest their butt... I bought it at a dealer used with only 9K on it (in 2006). now it's at 57K. I can see someone telling me "wear & tear, sorry", however it's not like I'm driving a 500 LB sumo wrestler in my car every day and the interior upholstery is always immaculate. BMW is supposed to pride themselves on lasting quality...

I purchased an extended warranty (100K) for my car when I first bought it, but I called them today and their excuse was Mechanical & Electrical only.

what do you think? Am I S.O.L. ?

Any hook ups here?

Yo Myk,

If you've tried the dealer you bought it from and that's the answer -- i'd guess you're SOL unless you find the hookup! I never had luck muscling those M/Fs...even when I'd bought 5 cars from them...

You can get some pretty nice BMW embroidered seat covers -- that's what I did for my 911 when the seats wore out ...and they looked great! Or, maybe it's time for the new Recaro's.....!!!!

Good luck! (:
