The Book of Eli - January 18, 2010, 06:42 AM

Anyone else see it? I wont give anything away but I was satisfied with it. Was not as impressed as I thought I would be but still think it was a powerful movie for certain individuals

I loved it, it had a lot more depth then I thought and the ending was (to me) freaking awesome I never saw it coming.

That's the thing with a Denzel movie. You're never really ever blown away - but you always walk away satisfied and not feeling like you got ripped off or just wasted 100 minutes + of your time.
Man on Fire still is up there in my Top-10. He was a real badass in that one.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

Denzel might be one of the best actors now and since 10 years ago. i could list several movies he was badass in.

Eli was good and had the ability to be great but I think the producers lost their overall goal while making it.

Saw it last night, I thought it was awesome. Totally didn't see the ending coming at all. I'd like to see it again when it comes out on DVD knowing the twist.

Also, since the movie was pretty quiet in parts, we did get to hear one guy fart during one of them. The entire threater started laughing. Make yourself comfortable, guy!

Saw it Saturday.....not exactly what I was expecting but I enjoyed it. I liked how they handled certain overtones and felt like the action was balanced out pretty well versus the slower moments.

I was entertained, which was all I was going for. I thought it got hokey at the end, but Mila Kunis is welcome to challenge me to a cage match to set the record straight.

I'm hard pressed to think of a better actor on the scene today than Denzel. I'll probably wait for it to come out on disk like everything else though. I just rearranged and recalibrated the 7.1 Saturday so it'll be all good when it happens.

I just cannot buy Mila Kunis as a badass. She was in some other movie where she tried to play a badass and its just not working for me. All I think of is that 70s show.

Saw it. Loved it. Really well done. Roger Ebert said it best: "You won't be sorry you went. It grips your attention, and then at the end throws in several WTF! moments, which are a bonus."

I know right it explains quite a bit at the end though..

Also I dunno how many people are faithful into the big man but that makes you think as well or it did me.
