Boost Mobile??? - October 9, 2009, 04:58 PM

Does anyone have the Boost Mobile service? I live in Round Hill and my Verizon signal sucks (1 or 2 bars, I have to walk outside to talk on the phone). I've been putting up with it because I have been a Verizon customer for over 10 years and they have a great network when I am away from home. I also have wireless Internet because I live so far out in the sticks we can't get cable or DSL. Since my home phone is Vonage (which has really high latency on a wireless signal) I am looking to replace that as well.

Boost Mobile is offering a $50 a month unlimited plan with no contract. I am thinking of moving to that but I used to work for Sprint and Nextel and used thier crappy phone service.

Has it improved? Are there any gotchas with Boost?

I have Sprint and have been more then pleased with it! I actually have service in a lot of places Verizon users don't. I switched over from Nextel and its supposed to be the same network but I know for a fact my Blackberry gets way better service then my old nextel phones!

That's what I'm using right now... So far so good for $50 bucks you can't beat it but I don't know about the coverage in your area since I live in ffx.

i've had both Virgin (verizon) and Boost. they both suck boost 50 dollar plan is good tho, the chirp gets old fast. i get crappy service at my place too, but i found a solution. i put my phone on my window ledge and use a bluetooth headset. works like a charm.

Jedi you could also look into Verizon's in-home cell phone signal booster($250 seems pretty damn expensive though) http://www.tomsguide.com/us/wireless...news-3354.html

They're claiming it makes your cell phone reliable enough to dump your landline altogether.

Two problems with that. One it works over a Internet connection (and I have wireless Internet with very high latency). Two they discontinued that product.

Anyone else have experience with boost mobile? I'm thinking of switching from verizon, I'm tired of being raped monthly. How's the coverage?
