Boots - January 15, 2010, 09:33 AM

Hey guys looking for some EMS boots.

Looking for a store around NOVA area.

Any ideas I searched but couldnt find any stores..

I find a lot online but I would like to try on a expensive pair of boots before I dish out some money for them.

thanks in advance!!

Not sure if they qualify as "EMS boots", but Oakley has some AWESOME, waterproof, lightweight tactical boots.

Both Sara and I have the SI 6 inch boot in black that we use when safety crew'ing. There's an Oakley store in Tysons if you want to go try them on.

The oakeys are nice but fall apart quick unless you get the real mil spec ones that are stiched instead of glued.

Go to the Ranger Surplus on RT 7 in Tysons

What do you value more? Life or Image?

What if you just went to a surplus store and got some used mil Spec boots from them until you are settled in and making some good coin.

Those look pretty nice!! Do you have a pair do they last awhile? Hoping so for that price.

Any stores around here carry them to your knowledge?

On a side note have you ever heard of people shaving their ankle/calf when wearing boots like there because there hair starts to itch or something?

Someone told me that in class I was like

I have the Danner Acadias that was issued to me in the military and from my govt job ... love them. Last forever and comfy like a sneaker when broken in. Just ask any active duty military they will tell you the same thing. But Im a poser so might want to ask someone that really knows.

Do you specifically need something with a steel toe?

If not, the Timberland Euro Hiker 1 is a great all around boot.

Waterproof, stitched, flexible lightweight, great construction, good traction material for the sole, cushioned, great padding without feeling spongy and like you're wearing a zero feedback Ski Boot of some sort, and very comfortable on the foot.

They come in all black too, so I'm sure they'll look the part.
