Bourne Ultimatum - August 12, 2007, 01:46 AM

Seeking your views only if you read the books! I've read the series when some of you were "born". There are two more books that came out "The Bourne Legacy" and the "Bourne Betrayal". These books were assisted with Ludlum and the second was basically written by Eric Lustbader (I've read several of his too) Anyhow, let me know what you think if you have the time.

I'll give you the comparison when I see it later. As for the first two I thought they did a good job. They detoured on some of the facts and played with some of the timelines a bit but overall I think these movies have done a good job bringing the character to life.

It's been a while since I read them but I remember not being as bothered by the changes as I have been with other books to movies.

The movie was pretty good. Although, this one didn't provide many answers to hit past. It seems like the movie covered a little about what the Company did to cover its butt, but didn't explain Bourne's past. I have a lot of questions of which I think reading the series will answer.

I'll be excited at the chance to go through SERE school, but killing someone to let go of my past life is rough.

I only read the main series -- what did you think of those others you mentioned here (you didn't say?) I haven't seen the movies because I have a fairly strict rule about not going to see movies when I've read the books (That screws with the pictures already in my head...)

Since I originally viewed the post because I thought it was going to be a movie review...I thought I'd chime in on the movie. Just saw it today.
It was a little confusing where it just JUMPS into the movie at the very beginning but I thoroughly enjoyed the flick. Good action - car chase, motorcycle/moped/scooter chase, hand to hand combat, all the stuff you would expect to see in the series.

The British press is speculating if the Bourne movies might the stuff to replace the aging "Bond" franchise. Bourne...Jason Bourne. Though I also read that Matt Damon indicated that the fight scenes take a lot more out of him in his 30's than when he started the trilogy in his 20's.

Who said anything about a few days...? and that sounds like just the "RE" section of it. We were out for about 10 days all total.

The Book ultimatum and the movie ultimatum are NOTHING alike. The book has Borne in his 40's married with kids..... If you like the character, reading the books is fun, but dont expect them to be like the movie.

I was slightly disappointed with the movie. I was entertained, but felt like it had no depth to it..
*shrug
