Cool Budget Sequestration, will you be affected?! - February 26, 2013, 12:11 PM

Pros: Less traffic for me to get to work
Cons: Might be slight possibility for no work if shit hits the fan

How will it affect you?!

I'm a fed so, yeah, I expect to be affected. I may be too easy going as I haven't really looked to see just what the impact could be on me on a personal level.

My funding is good through next Jan so they say. But it's going to hit everyone in this area in some way.

Yeah I am old enough to know better. Thing is, I just don't care.

They are talking one day a week or something like that you will have off with no pay, that is the light side of it.

My customer is the DoD. I foresee alot of extra vacation days over the next 3-4 months. A lot of my customers are ready to throw their hands up.

Even though I'm currently unemployed, I completely agree.

Looks like there might be some Fridays LWOP (20% reduction in pay). Could be worse if they just let everyone but essentials go home.

Fun note: The president and congress will continue to be paid no matter.... like they need the money

A 20% paycut would seriously fack me up as a GS-5.

A layoff/furlough would be even worse. I'd have to say fack this place, pack my shiz up and head to the cabin in West Virginia.

On the other hand, having a life-changing excuse to GTFO the D.C. area would be good.

+1 Ben.

Everyone but the idiots driving the ship will be effected in one capacity or another.

Are the cuts long overdue...yes.

When government unemployment is less than half that of the private sector...that is a problem.

That's what you get for writing your pay rate directly into the law of the land.

It's hard to say what's going to happen. Some of our contracts will get hit, others won't and the available information is fleeting.

Either way I'm getting pissed off at Republican countdown to #OBAMAquester. Stop coming up with negative PR, get in a room and fix this shit.
