Bullet proof vest - March 11, 2015, 12:21 PM

So, my wife is a teacher in a western county in virginia and this morning she got called in to school early for a all hands meeting. Basically, they found a note on the ground the other day from one kid to another talking about bringing guns to school. This got turned into the police, after an investigation, they found 6 to 8 kids who were planning on bringing guns to school some day soon. Not sure the outcome, but long story short, I am looking into getting her some armor to wear under her cloths but do not know anything about it.

Anyone on here know anything about levels of armor and the protection for said level?

Anyone have any recommendation on some low profile armor that can be worn discreetly under cloths as to not freak the kids out?

Sad that it has come to this.....

Wow that is fucked up and sad. They should let your wife carry her own gun. She then should be able to write it, all ammo and training off on taxes or be reimbursed.

There is some hot pistol cartridges that will go thru 3a.

I suggest you have her carry a firearm concealed. A ruger LCP 380 is about 12.7 oz loaded, less than 1" thick, about the size of a cell phone come to think of it. A lil snappy but running and hiding waiting minutes when it only takes seconds to get killed is a crappy plan. Some rules were meant to be broken.

Don't know her physique or dress style but you can look at the flash bang holster, maybe some sort of thigh holster, something discreet.

Don't get caught. They'd have to have reasonable articulable suspicion to just start frisking her randomly. If you conceal it well you're good to go.

I've got a sapi plate vest and kevlar helmet but both are very large, nothing that would go unnoticed.

I'd question the stopping power of vests that can be easily worn under clothing.

Lv IIIA is highest pistol rating. They are concealable, but its hard to conceal under clothes, however. Her co-workers will notice unless shes walking around wearing a jacket or coat indoors.

There are a lot of options for subliminal armor. Level III can be overcome by certain pistol loads and most rifle loads.

Unless she is able to pack enough heat that can overwhelm a potential threat, I would strongly recommend you spend money on medical training and training on mindset and awareness in critical situations. There are highly rated courses that are local that actually do classes on scholarships for teachers and educators. Check out this course and then reach out to them if you are interested. Environmental Manipulation™ /ARAINDROP™ , If it doesn't load properly check out "Training" and then select "Environmental Manipulation"

They recently posted on Facebook that they were championing scholarships for teachers for courses like this.

scary stuff...

kids still write notes with snapchat, WhatsApp, Telegram, Kik, Line, Viber and more available? I know some schools on nova monitor text messaging during school hours.
Finding a note seems like a time warp, a lucky one in this case.

Cops are on 3A and you can easily see their vests under their tops. Shed want a womans cut and forget about it being hidden. 3A is blatantly obvious if you're looking. As stated above, a med kit and situational awareness classes will do her better. Criminals and people looking to commit crimes can tell when someone has their shit together. Be less of a target than the other teachers
