Red face Burger Kings answer to the McRib: BK Fire Grilled Rib. - June 18, 2013, 12:28 AM

Quote:
I got one today before I went to summit point...it was...blah !! compared to the McRib...Id give the McRib an 8 and the BK Fire Grilled Rib a 6.5.
It cost about the same price as the McRib but about 1/3rd to almost half smaller and other than the BBQ sauce....it did not have any taste....no flavor...just oily meat and I mean oily. But they top it with allot of huge Sweet pickles. That and the bun was fantastic, but the meat was sooo bland. They have a North Carolina BBQ pulled pork I am going to try next. I do not think this will catch on as well as the McRib.....that sandwich is addictive while this one is ...ok.
Oh and I had the sweet potato fries.....80% grease and 15% salt. I really wanted to throw them away. They taste ok....I've had better. It is worth a try tho. I was not mad that I had it and will eat it again....unless the McRib is out.

Watch Out, McRib! Burger King Launching BK Rib This May
May 15, 2013 at 7:00PM by Kiri Tannenbaum | 0 Comment
For 32 years, no fast-food competitor has gone head-to-head with the McRib — until now. Burger King seems to be readying to take on the beloved barbecued sandwich — which has a loyal following and a very unpredictable annual arrival — with the new BK Rib.

More From Delish: The McRib Returns!

Burger Business, reported BK would announce the return of its limited summer offerings, which will include last year's Carolina BBQ Whopper (or Chicken) Sandwich, Memphis Pulled Pork, and sweet potato fries. New to the summer roster: a boneless BK Rib Sandwich that is fire-grilled, topped with sweet pickles, and slathered in a tangy BBQ sauce. BK confirmed the report by posting a photo (below) on its Facebook page with the caption "Oh, you haven't heard? The Rib Sandwich is coming!"

We are guessing Burger King is hoping the BK Rib will develop the same cult following as the McDonald's McRib, which has a fan-created Facebook page, Twitter account, and countless blogs dedicated to it. USA Today reports that Burger King spent 10 months planning and testing its version in Shreveport, Louisiana. It sold "extremely well," according to Eric Hirschhorn, vice president of global innovation. The King's BK Rib will debut nationally next week, on May 21, and will be priced at approximately $3.49. According to USA Today, the company will also start marketing the entire summer menu using the "taste is king" campaign.

Are you a fan of the McRib? Will you taste the BK Rib?

more reviews...good read and I agree on some points......

It's not meat. Not anything I would consider meat at least. More like compressed scrap formed into a patty with coloring and spices.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

tofu isnt meat either or soy burgers or black bean burgers....

Treat it like a rear treat.....a few per year when they are released.

Oh and to the best of my knowledge...most hot dogs are...various parts of the animal...beef or chicken....

sausages are made from intestine casing...so not much difference in the long run.

OK... so I had never heard of scrapple before moving to the east coast. WTF is this garbage?! I made the mistake of ordering it once. I thought they were playing a joke on me and serving me cat food!

What's worse is that I couldn't even get pissed because I ordered it.

Awful, nastiness...

Lots of people in NJ/ PA like scrapple. I tried it a couple times growing up, could never get used to it.

Now Taylor Pork Roll though... that stuff is fantastic.
