Can we get British PM David Cameron for President? - May 8, 2015, 01:05 PM

Just watched British Prime Minister David Camerons post election speech. Man, I want either him or his speech writer working for us! Why?

UK election: Conservatives win outright majority - CNN.com

1) He was gracious to the opposition that lost. Crediting them for their patriotism and hard work even though they had different ideas about how the country should run.
(Consolatory in nature, rather than a petty "We Won, We won!)

2) Rather than boast or gloat over how the Conservative party can now do what they want since they have a clear majority, he instead stated that by having that majority the party has an increased responsibility to their citizens for how well the country fared as they move forward.
(No passing the buck)

3) He stated that he wants the government to help people that want to work and to help those born disadvantaged.
(Help those who want to help themselves, rather than just give handouts to those who want a free ride)

4) Re-examine their relationship with the European Union.
(Take care of your own country first, not be be an isolationist, rather to take care of your own first)

Damn, I really like this guy and really don't know anything about him. Kudos for his delivery and his speech writers talent.

There's bold riders and old riders, but damn few bold old riders.

One thing must be done if you want a government that only cares about the people...

1) Make it illegal and punishable by prison for a minimum of X years for accepting any campaign donations for a) any person that runs for public office and b) any person that is still in public office.

Term limits

Campaign donation reform

Strong laws around lobbying, what is legal and what isn't. No free trips anywhere. No free anything.

If you can't eat and crap, then you don't get to lobby or have rights. Period. Corporate entities wield entirely too much power IMO.

Donation limits for individuals. Companies get no ability to make donations. Ever.

Politicians can not ever receive and keep donation money. Don't use it? It goes into the social security fund for the country.

Insider trading to become illegal for EVERYBODY. Even Senators and Congressmen. To allow them to blatantly break laws that are enforced for anybody else is essentially setting up a ruling class.

Reset the tax laws. By making them so complex for the average person we spend money, time, and allow criminals to abuse the system. I know they are used as an economic lever to move people/companies. But right now the average person needs 40+ hours. And works something like 4-5 months of the year just to pay taxes. Taxes which are pissed away in stupid pork barrel spending, government boondoggles, and pissed away to other countries as "aid". Otherwise known as bribes.
