It was a market glitch or computer error. Nothing tails off that fast, that soon unless there's disasterous world ending news.

On the bright side - whoever got in at those lows - those buys are valid so they just made themselves a quick 20% profit in a day.

Nah. Not comp error. We had larger/faster swings during the crisis.

EU bailed out Greece with a 146 bill loan ... that'll kill the market. On top of that both Spain & Port. are both in big trouble & Euro is at a 1 yr low.

this is a motorcycle forum. It would be nice if there was actually motorcycle content here.

Perhaps I will go to the site below and post motorcycle stuff.

*AND* I added the feature where you can ignore forums from "New Posts"

http://www.dcsportbikes.net/forum/pr...do=editoptions

at the bottom. Ignore "non-sportbike chat". Win.

Some people are never happy.

Bloomberg is saying it looks like a trader fat finger a "B" instead of a "M" on a trade. It in turned set off a cascade by these algorythmic auto black box trade machines these major hedgefunds and trade desks use seeing such a large dip off the algorythm began triggering sell orders which basically turned into a damn feedback loop until human hands got inside and shut them down.

Basically, a human made a mistake and SkyNet went bananas and decided the humans were all stupid, fleeting sheep and came to conclusion it needs to kill us all.

It's pretty fucked up that trading these days is pretty much done by machines. That is why if you got big ballz fucking buying power (like the erraneous sell we just witnessed today) you can trigger a catastrophe faster than if it were simple human trades.

Everything is gonna be automated, the end is nigh!
