Car help: Dent - May 28, 2008, 02:43 PM

Ok, so I was cruising down the road one night going to my woman's house and all of a sudden I hear a loud bang on the side of my car as a few vehicles passed by going the opposite direction. Figuring one of them tossed something large up onto my car I quickly pulled over to check ( I'm anal about my vehicles and their condition ) and to my complete surprise I find bright yellow paint on the side of the passenger door. Running an unsure finger over the wound I feel the descusting round dent it left behind. Enraged, I cursed for a decent amount of time and reported the incident to the sheriff's office in the off chance they caught the fucker who decided shooting my car was a good idea. ( he's lucky I had no way of finding him or I'd probably be behind bars right now )

All in all I was obviously pissed, but my reason for bringing this up is I'm hoping someone on here knows how / has the tool to pop out dents. I've inspected it every time I approach my car and I'm fairly confident it's recoverable. I know they can pop out most hail damage and this is just about the same size dent hail would make.

So anyone willing to help a guy out?

It's appreciated either way!

Yes, i was in fact a victim of a drive-by shooting per VA state law even if it was a paintball gun... and yes, I did in fact want to kill someone

Removing dents (from car)

I never got my dent out, cuz it was more pointed than rounded, but maybe this will help you out.

Oh hells no... I'd be turning around and lookin for the facker. I have to fight the desire to chase down other drivers who accidentally throw up rocks at my truck on the interstate - even though I know its not their fault.

I just want someone to bitch at.

If you can get yourself to manassas there is a paintless-dent repair spot at the Honda/GM/Pontiac Dealer right there on 66/234 business. The guy repaired many cars for my gf and I and several other people (few subaru owners, mazda owners, etc). We recommend them to everyone.

My gf had a sti with an aluminum hood (thinner more delicate metal, PITA to smooth out) and the guy got it about 95% smooth and wasnt satisfied and said not to pay him because it wasnt 100%. I still gave him half of what he charges and my own wrx to get some dents out that I paided full price for as gradtitude for being a very upfront and honest business.

Just roll by either dealer and ask for the dent repair guy. He works in the bays between the two dealers on the 234 side of that massive pile of buildings.

You can pick up a dent puller at most autoparts stores that works by suction. It's less then 10 bucks and can be found in the paint section. It's a simple little plastic tool that suctions to the car panel and has a handle you pull. Give that a try first.
