Yet my 93' Ford taurus wagon that gets about 15 "true" mpg didn't qualify. They had it listed at over 20mpg.

They were suppose to go by what the car where listed to get not what they actually get. so most of the Asian cars on that list should not have been accepted

I'm betting some of those didn't get the proper dosage of Sodium Silicate that were supposed to be poured into the engine...

It was listed in the CFC database of cars that were destroyed and dealers seeking redemption for.

Dealers didn't get hosed - they just didn't get their disbursement as soon as they were promised.

To that I say, would you rather have 100 sales with $1MM in receivables due Net-60 on the books, or 20 sales for the same period.

I'd take the 100 with long-lead reinbursement any day. Yeah, it's going to sting for a few weeks until they cash comes in, but when it does you'll be happy the program was there.

If it comes in. There are dealers with a lot more than 100 CFC cars waiting to be subsidized

Well I will tell you that where I work at we have gotten paid on all of our clunkers from the govt.. and on the govt website there were specific guidelines you had to go by to calculate the rebate and had to submit side by side comparison of the car trading in to the vehicle your purchasing and if it wasnt in the guidelines it gets rejected.. and for the record sales are alot and i mean alot less now.

Nuff said.
If a dealer sales person didn't follow the guidelines, that's on them.

But by and large, they're a helluva lot better off with the program then they would have been without it.
