Death toll is supposedly north of 100 now.

They burned the teacher alive in front of the students.

This is normal behavior people....right...?

Of course not, school shootings can only be grudgingly accepted when they threaten to infringe upon your rights. Everybody know that

Time to activate the Afghani mother who killed 25 Taliban as revenge for the death of her child.

She knows how to handle business.

Seriously Dutch...?

You are exactly right. These are totally comparable.

The 2A fanatics are in the same boat as the Taliban.

A single shooter who is mentally insane who would have killed just as many children with a 6 shot revolver or a 10 round magazine capacity pistol is the exact same thing as an entire religion aimed at the extermination of anyone that opposes their world view.

Yes. You are totally right. All makes sense now.

In Israel, teachers are armed and trained how to dispatch armed threats.

IIRC, to-date, no active shooter event or terrorist threat has ever taken place in an Israeli school.

Any correlation or just coincidence.

Normal? I wouldn't say anything about their lives is "normal" to you or me. On the same note, think of all the terrible things the British did to the Indians and Native Americans. It's still not okay to torture Brits or anyone else for that matter.
These same people we funded, trained, and put in power.

I'd probably throw my comment in with the "no way they shot someone in new york, it's illegal" variety. But you may never have seen those, they are sooooo rare

but, the end game is dead children in school. Is one really that much more acceptable than the other? Are there "levels" of dead children we are willing to accept?....just a thought, not a sermon

Never in Austria. Hitler's birthplace or just a coincidence?

I think you probably need to take up that comment with Fitz and had he tried to equate the murders at Sandy Hook with this incident based on their shared illegality, I would have told him he was being asinine as well.

Neither are acceptable, but I fail to see where anyone was saying one was more acceptable than the other. I also fail to see where anyone said that Sandy Hook was acceptable? The argument was that none of the proposed gun control measures would have impacted the outcome, but I will respectfully bow out of this argument as it isn't pertinent to the 100 murdered children today. Congrats on Red Herring though.

You are right.

Switzerland - 2nd highest rate of gun ownership per capita. Weird.

Belgium - 34th on the list but still has basically the same murder rate that Switzerland does. How is that possible? More guns = more murder...right?

Austria - 14th on the list but a murder rate that is 4X higher than Norway? Norway has more guns.

None of this makes any sense. Doesn't more guns = more school shooting and murder.

And none of these countries are in active conflict zones - at least not in the last 60 years - or have a direct hand in active conflicts.

BTW, and I could be wrong, but isn't a mandate that all Swiss men are required to do 1 year military service and then are allowed to retain their service rifle at the conclusion of their service?

If I am wrong, I know it's definitely one of the Nordic countries that engages in this practice.

Yes. These places are just like Israel. They are surrounded on all sides by countries that are actively calling for their destruction.

Haven't you been in Switzerland? A whopping 1.5% of people from non-European countries. Yes. Very diverse.

Honesty, I wouldn't be the expect on Switzerland.
All I know about it is that they make tasty chocolate, Zug is a great place to register a company for a tax dodge, and they don't sell handbags to Oprah Winfrey.
