CNA? - February 2, 2010, 01:36 PM

My gf is looking into becoming a CNA she is working towards nursing but looking for a job so I mentioned this I did tell her allllllll about the CNA job......

The bad parts and she is still interested found myself a keeper anyway

I googled CNA came up with nothing near NOVA (she doesnt have a car). Only one I found was in Richmond can someone hook me up with some info would be greatly apprecciated and maybe a discount off something in my this and that thread =P

My girl is in the same field but she went the CMA route before becoming a nurse.. Just keep looking around the NOVA area on craigslist and all the big job seeker website.. monster, hotjobs and such.. There are always CNA and CMA (certified medical assistant) jobs in the area.. don't pay too great starting out but once you have experience it will open some doors..

for CMA/CNA (to my knowledge from what I have heard here and kentucky are about the same)

Starting CNA = 9.50
CMA = Unkown (quick google search turned up 22k a year)
EMT = 9.50
EMT-I = 12ish
EMT-P (paramedic) = 40-60k a year
RN = 40+ a year
LPN = 30ish a year

going off mainly of kentucky and I heard its about the same here

edit Im not 100% what a CMA does I have not heard of those (certified medical assistant). Called and asked the guy said 12k and its a 7 month program so Im guessing its higher then CNA (certified nursing assistant)

i think theres a lot of em (cna that is, never heard of cma) in the area outside of nova. my mom teaches one down in woodbridge and she knows people "in the business" that have em all around nova. i wanna say hers is like a G or so + books + whatever else you need (uniform, nurse stuff, etc...). and i think most of those are a couple months too. i think a lot of em dont use mainstream advertising so you gotta dig a little. send me a message and i can give you a phone number if you want more info.
