Thumbs up Commuting to the Navy Yard area in DC - October 12, 2008, 02:28 PM

Got a new job at the Navy Yard. Looking to see if anyone else commutes to the Navy Yard area as well. Would like to see if there is a possibility of finding someone to commute with or start a commuting group.

Thanks.

Not that it's gonna help you but my father works at the Navy Yard and has for the past 25 years. I'll ask him if he knows of any commuting groups.

There is this commuter group that meets in Vienna, Dunn Loring, East/West Falls Church, etc. They all ride together picking up other group members along the way, all the way into DC and back out to the opposite side. You sometimes have to change who's whip you ride in but you don't have to take turns driving. I know they can take you right to the Navy Yard.

I work at the navy yard. Commuting from springfield. Parking is sh!t.... even for bikes. Driving in traffic..takes more or less 45 minutes, depending how many dip-sh!ts there are on the road. Same on the way back if you go through arlandria.

In the past year, i've seen 3 downed bikes on M st.... be careful.

Yes, I commute from Chantilly to the James Creek Marina/Ft. McNair area (I work at CG Headquarters) I'd LOVE to get a carpool going. (BTW I have free parking at the marina for anyone else who is close enough to there)

Myke you have a PM.
