Talking Competed in my first Adventure Race... and got 4th! - May 4, 2008, 05:18 PM

I am proud to say that last weekend I competed in my first adventure as part of a two-man team. I have always wanted to get into this sort of thing... being an avid mt biker and general outdoor nut. This was an entry level race for beginners. My plan was to just get one race under belt... not caring where I finished, as long as I tried hard and didn't come in dead last.

Holy Fucking Shit! 4th place! I'm stoked and even more excited to start training harder and try harder. There were 16 two-man teams and 120 total teams... our over all was 15th of 120 teams... not bad!

Race consisted of biking, trail running, canoe, and swim with a tube of gear... all while navigating randomly scattered check points.

I am so glad I did this... a major feeling of accomplishment... especially since 90% of the teams looked to be in way better shape then me!
As I recieved my 4th place award (a pint glass... sweet!) I looked at all the "Men's Health" looking buff dudes in their UnderArmor... and with my chicken legs and ratty old gym-shirt, was like
"check out what 4th place looks like bitches..." ha!

Here's a few pics...
