You guys know if it's possible to run the system recovery from a dos prompt.. before the os loads up.. or from the recovery console....

i found this command... %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe but haven't tried it yet..

anyone?

if its a dell...boot from the restore cd. run the repair program.

when you are in dos..

type in chkdsk /r

chkdsk/r should work. That or you can go to where you choose to create a partion and instead of hitting enter, hit R.

but chkdsk/r isn't a windows repair

yeah we have that too.. .i was trying to refrain from having to create an image then restore an image..

i meant like a windows system restore.. restore to an earlier date thing...

Oh restore, i thought you were talking about a repair. I am not aware of a way to do a restore without being into windows.
