Thumbs up Congrats to Floyd Landis - USA - Next Tour de France Winner!!!! - July 22, 2006, 11:07 AM

Early this morning Floyd Landis took back nearly 2:00 minutes from the race leader to reclaim the yellow jersey. Tomorrow is the final stage and he will go into Paris with nearly a one minute advantage to win the Tour de France which will make it 8 years in a row for the United States.

Floyd ran a very consistent race, in one stage he had what he described as "a bad day" and lost 8 minutes and fell nearly 10 places from first place and everyone thought his tour was over. On the next day, he did what everyone thought was impossible...he attacked from the beginning and reclaimed all but 30 seconds.

What makes this even more amazing is the fact that Floyd is also riding with a complete hip replacement on one of his sides which is so severe he cannot mount or dismount the bike from that side.

Lance Armstrong won 7 tours and now Floyd has stepped up and kept the United States on the winning streak showing that the US does have the top cyclists in the world.

My congratulations to Floyd...

Well deserved post.
After all of the problems Lance is still having with his 7 wins, its good to see that the US is still a strong force in the most grueling bike race on Earth.

No kidding man...I think my mouth was on the floor for the entire race...what a ride and what a way to win the tour! Hands down one of the best tours in history...he certainly deserves it!

I can't wait to get back into racing next year ...a lot of legs are going to be broken!
