Contour ROAM Len Cover screw - Where to get one of those darn screws? - August 9, 2013, 06:39 PM

Hi,

My friend fumbled the screw when he replaced the lens and somehow lost it forever.

I agreed to trade him my Contour HD because he was about to take off to Europe. He gave me his ROAM and I need to find me a screw to make this camera functional before track day this Monday if I am going.

CONTOUR | Lens Protector Replacement - ROAM

I need the small screw that holds the len ring part of the body to the rotating mechanicism. It is the one in the provided picture. The camera would not function properly without the screw in.

Any store near or around Alexandria would be cool. I figured I should try a camera shop but there isnt one close by where I live and I thought I should ask for my future reference.

Thanks!

It's probably metric. Try your local Ace Hardware, the one on Main St in Fairfax City has a great metric selection. You'll want to take the camera with you. It's hard to tell from your pic but I'm guessing you're looking for an M1.8-2.2.

Have any old devices/electronics? Sometimes those will have tiny screws in then that you can use.

Might be something you could find at a hobby shop as well, something off an R/C car or helicopter. Also try a jewelry store that specializes in watches.
