Cornerspin bikes stolen - October 30, 2011, 05:49 PM

Heads up! These are in the NC area but you never know since we have a lot of indoor rides in this area.

From Aaron:

If you see "for sale" XR100's or CRF100's mounted with Bridgestone Trailwing tires, Renthal bars and Moose bar busters... and in the NC area, then you can safely assume those are Cornerspin bikes. That is not a common combo.

My bike: CR85 Showa upside down forks w/ Galfer wave rotor, 2.75 Sun rims (front and rear) and Works Performance Shock. The motor has hot pink.../purple paint showing through the silver paint on the cases. (The hot pink paint is a whole other story). Renthal bars. and CRF100 logos on the tank shrouds.

I spent the day with a welder to fix and reinforce the conex box.

And check this out: the keys were in the tractor. They didn't take the tractor worth much much more. They didn't even knock down the gate. They walked in to the property, spent copious amounts of time getting in the box (it took them hours to do it), lifted the bikes over the tractor and then rolled the bikes out to the road to meet their get away driver. Quiet and smooth.

Police think that it may be some of the road construction guys since no one locally really knows we are there. For the amount of work that went into getting into the box and knowing what to bring to break in: 1. they knew what they wanted and how much they could carry out and 2. they had been there before to scope it out.

Then again, it could also be some locals but who knows?

3 bikes, 3 Alpinestar chest protectors, 3 Scorpion helmets and my tool box.

What a great way to sell stuff: Bike, helmet and chest protector as a set...

If you see this stuff on line, please contact me here, or our office 704-332-3147 or email: astevenson@carolina.rr.com

We will contact the authorities.

Totally blows. If construction workers that could explain lack of interest in the tractor; no need to take something similar to what they work on all day but who knows. Hopefully they do their best Sunny Bono impression while they're riding.

You've gotta be fucking kidding me.

I'll repost this on ADV, since some folks there might be looking for bikes like these.

I hate thieves.

Reposted on VCHSS because a lot of the racers are in southern VA and northern NC.

Why hasn't Aaron sent this to RRW? I'm sure they would have it posted on their site in just a few minutes, that's how quick RRW is.

The Nesba email this morning is related to this. Hope they catch the turds that did this and get prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows.
Did they post up and photos of the bikes?
