WHEN:TBA
WHERE: Burke Lake Park, Fairfax Station (7315 Ox Rd.)
WHAT: CPR and First Aid Class. (see below)
HOW MUCH?: Please bring $25 with you to give to the instructor

Weather Forcast for 10/3: Mostly Sunny. Highs around 70. Light Winds.
Afterwards, we can head out for a ride!

If anyone, needs to cancel please let me know ASAP via PM. Also, let me know, if you haven't already, that you are coming and if you are bringing anyone. I'd like to get a good head count. We need to know how many copies to make and all that good stuff. We can ride afterwards... so no excuses! This is only a two weekend event. Never know when you'll get the chance again!!!!

See ya there!

__________________________________________________ ___________
I know we have talked about this class before but no one acted on it.... so, I did. I need to recert anyway so I thought I'd do us ALL a favor. I think, riding in groups it would be a very good thing for us to know. I mean it's something you can use everyday, in any emergency situation, as well. Sometimes it's impossible for an ambulance to get to the person in the required time so you should become aware..... that being said....

My EMT-B teacher is SO awesome... wanna know one of the reasons why? I got us a class lined up. Here's the details:

-Things to be learned: c spine (learning to move the person the correct way without moving their neck or back, creating further injury), basic first aide, other useful motorcycle (emergency) information, and cpr and rescue breathing

-How much: $25 each person for a 4 hour class.
That's actually a GOOD price! Not to mention, she is a REALLY GOOD instructor, and when you are done you WILL be confident you know what you are doing. She usually charges $50/class. This will include a certification card that will probably be mailed to you.

-Where? We will probably be doing it in Fairfax. Good? We will also be going outside to practice scenarios on each other.... NOT CPR, though. Probably like laying in different positions-getting to c spine-taking helmet off, and knowing what to do if someone is in a ditch, per say.

This class will be very informative, as well as being fun. She likes to goof off too so I am sure we will have lots of laughs.... of course we need to be serious at the right times.

What I need to know:
1. I need to know if Fairfax is a good central location
2. What month should we plan this for?
3. When is a good weekend and which day?

Post up if you are in, and above information. PM me with any questions.[img][/img]

You rock-

FFX is good for me...
Anytime after 11:00am...(gotta get my sleep!), but if it's before that, I am still in.
Post up some dates that your instructor is available so people can pick, then the majority wins...

Cool?

Thanks for posting this up!

OK let's start with the first or second weekend in October. That should be far enough in advance for everyone. or is it? Let me know.

I'm sure after 11am will be good. Penny is her name, she likes to sleep in, too, I'm sure. I'll see what she can do.

I have just been discussing this exact same thing with some of the folks I ride with. I would definately be down for this. It will all depend on when it is because my schedule rotates!!

I'm in and prefer the first weekend of October. Don't think I can make the second weekend. Keep us all posted on the final decision.
Thanx

I'm in if it's the second weekend in October (9th & 10th). Have track days the first and third weekend (as do at least a few other people here). Thanks for setting this up!

Jason, see you at barber!

I could do the second week in Oct. as well. Fairfax works.

Looks like second weekend in Oct is winning.... I want everyone to get the chance to look at their schedules and everything before we make a final decision. You can bring anyone else that rides as well, just let me know how many you plan to bring.

I know this is not something that people like to think about, or imagine happening, but it's reality. It does happen and if it does I know you would want to be able to help, or for someone to help you. I know it felt good when I stopped for a downed rider.

Well, that's another thing we need to figure out - Saturday or Sunday? I mean some people work on Saturday's so maybe Sunday will work better with everyone? But then again there is church for some, too, I'm sure. You guys let me know. I want as many people to go as possible, and I want to do whatever you guys want. I can get this cert anytime but I really would like to for you guys to get the opportunity.

Don't forget to PM me with how many people you are planning to bring. I know some people are part of other sites and etc. If we get enough for both weekends, we can do both weekends and then everyone is happy! Let me know!

Oh, and yeah Oct 9th and 10th is the second weekend in October. The first is Oct 2nd and 3rd, for the rest of you.
