Cross Country Triip = Done - September 8, 2009, 01:59 PM

I just got home from a 3 week 8300 mile cross country adventure. I got two tickets, laid my bike down twice (once moving once not) and lost my license and every other "important" piece of paper I had and wouldn't change a thing. Saw both oceans, rode half by myself half with friends and people Ive never met, camped on the side of the road and stayed at the Venitian in Vegas. I'll post a write up and some pics as soon as I get them sorted.

Great read Hockeyfan.

My parents and I did a 7000 mile cross country trip on their Harleys when I was in 6th grade. Most epic ride of my life. Recommended to do at least once in a lifetime. I plan on doing so in the next couple years.

I camped 6 or 7 times on the way out, I was with a group coming back so we split hotel costs. It didn't cost as much as I thought it would even with the tickets I got.

Did you take tire irons and change your own tires or did you start out with some touring tires that lasted the duration of the trip?
