DAMN LAZY GOOD FOR NOTHING COPS - September 7, 2011, 08:20 PM

Today I went to court for a traffic ticket. In addition to giving me a break (wrote it for simple speeding instead of the 30 over it was), he was super professional and courteous. Didn't even oppress me, beat me, or give me a roadside inspection.

Judge looked at my driving record, offered driving school, and dismissed the charge pending driving school.

All in all, a good day.

I went to court one time for a reckless and after questioned about the stop the cop dropped the charges for the 2 the questioned it and than asked the judge to drop the charges of all the others in the group.

From what I recall he was super cool and very professional. Even shook out hands and wished us safe rides in the future. Damn nice guy.

I sent him a gift card for Dunkin Donuts as a thank you

Yup. Since my 80 in a 55 on the toll road years back was a 1 month commuted jail sentence (optionally enforceable if I got another ticket in 1 year of the judgement), 400+ in fees, and reckless driving for the next 7 years. This was with a clear record.

Nothing like consistency, eh?

Of course it was the judge that was a dick. The guy in front of me with no lawyer was doing 82 in a 55 and got his license revoked for a year.

The trooper who pulled me over was cool, except wasn't having it when I asked him to just get me for speeding.

I got a Reckless for speeding in FFX Co years ago. I went to court with a lawyer, I was dressed in a suit and was polite. EVERYBODY in front of me was let off lightly, seemed the Judge was in a good mood. I stepped up and his mood changed, he yelled at me and put me in jail. The Deputy that took me down to the jail was as puzzled as I was. The Deputy said"what the hell did you do to piss the Judge off?" I chuckled and he looked even more confused. I told him that I must clearly look like the guy who took the Judge's daughter's virginity, he got a kick out of that. The night shift called me 'Stud'.

Got a reckless in Loudoun County years ago. 80 in a 55. Strangely enough it wound up being my cheapest ticket at $60. 30 for court costs and 30 for the traffic school. And the cops name? Officer Shellhammer.

You got a late birthday gift is all. Don't brag.
