Datsun 260z Build/mod/thread - April 12, 2013, 09:57 AM

So I recently came to own an 1974 260z. Needs a bit of tlc although its in pretty good shape. Going to be a slow build/mod to get the car how I want it especially with funding but it runs and drives and its a pretty fun car.

Anyone know any z gurus in NOVA area? Would like to get a check/tune/advice on prioritization

Car pictured with my buddy who helped me pick it up.

wow dude.. A 260. I had a 280z when I lived in Cali. Have fun with that car. My first bit of advice is check for rust, everywhere.

Be cautious of the electrical system and make sure it is well grounded, ask how I know.

Great find

Subscribed I love the older Dotsuns.

Not sure if I would put a V8 in or a newer twin turbo 6.

Yeah I am old enough to know better. Thing is, I just don't care.

Ill take some more pictures when I can. Right now its tucked in the garage awaiting time.

Few specs, little to no rust, filled in rear with bumper delete, front fiberglass fairing with bumper delete.

Car engine runs well so I doubt I am going to put in a V8. If I want to go fast I have the sportbike. Point of use for the car is it is going to be a fun cruiser that can be tossed around the corners a bit.

I found this one a couple months back, and immediately started searching ebay for an older Z myself. Enjoy the inspiration!
