$200 is for the base model with 512MB ram and 4GB solid state. I can't figure out what I would do with it that I can't do with the gear I have.

Is the base model good enough to bang around the net and access the network at home to look up things off my 1.5TB drive on the desk top?

It doesn't come with apple, if you actually read it. It comes with Ubuntu. The hardware internal to it is compatible with hackintosh though, so you can install a hacked OSX onto it.

Wonder how bad the battery life, etc is with it.
