Different kind of Lawyer needed.!!! - October 31, 2007, 06:02 PM

Anybody ever had to collect a large debt from someone in another state.

Need advice, good contacts, anything....

Quick rundown -> A jackass in FL owes about 30K$ and I'd like to collect it by the end of the year. Have all documentation and so on..

Any help is appreciated, I am considering a drive back to Tampa

Does this person owe it to you personally or to a buisness?

you need to hire a litigation attourney that either has partners in florida, or just hire one in florida. They can just be barred there, but tehn they need to show up in person to court dates, and that travel time will come out of your pocket. Find one downt here, deal with them through phone, email and fax, and bring litigation against him.

15% is all I need just a name no questions ask. Do you want the italian or viet people to take care of him. We will break all the joints on his fingers and toes

example:
break all joints in fingers, then wrist, then elbow, then arm.

How long has the debt been in default? Was there a first payment default or did the company make any payments yet? Besides contracts, if you show that the company demonstrated a repayment effort and then stopped, that leads you down one particular path of collection. IF it was a first payment default, then its a different path. These are questions a good collection agency or attourney will ask you in order to bring this to resolution.

Sounds like you have all your ducks in a row. Good luck!

I think it's an individual who owes payment to a company.

[quote=YaoMatt]Hire a FL barred lawyer to place a lein against his personal property or garnish his wages.[/quo Hi sidearm sorry you are in this situation. however yao has the right way how I would get the bastard, but make sure you are discreet, don't tell him you are going to FL or gettign alawyer. try to find if he has a car or property and supply this to your lawyer. be dicreet or he might just run to another state. make sure you have his social security it might come in very handy.
good luck man
