Exclamation Distracted drivers - July 22, 2009, 07:09 PM

This site was posted on another forum. This kids mother was killed on her motorcycle by a woman painting her nails.

http://www.blacknailbrigade.org/

There needs to be more public awareness on the radio, tv etc.
And laws need to be set for this kind of behavior.

Well, there is one. Failure to obey proper time and attention.

The problem with the media is the same problem with people in general, they can't see the forest for the trees. Cell phones take all the heat, but they're far from the most dangerous distractions people engage in while driving.

And, people are self serving and suck. You can make a law all day long, but at that moment in time to that woman, the color of her nails will always be more important than your life. That's the way it's always been and that's the way it always will be.

To be honest, passing more laws is only further inhibiting yourself. Laws prevent nothing.

If you really want justice, lobby to have the maximum penalty for the catch-all law, failure to pay proper time and attention, increased.

More laws that wouldn't be enforced, what's the point?

IMO, they should charge these people with manslaughter. Did they mean to kill someone? No, but someone died, and it boils down to being their fault. Sounds like manslaughter to me... they kill someone and all they get is a fucking traffic ticket? wtf...
