DMV Driving Record Question.. - August 2, 2011, 09:19 PM

Would an incident that I was considered at fault, but never charged with anything nor made an insurance claim be on my driving record?

The position requires me to drive a company truck so a clean record is a big deal..

Without knowing the whole story, its hard to say whether the company you work for will likely terminate you in the future. If you lied on an app, then its entirely possible. If it was a minor incident and you didn't think it would show up, maybe and maybe not. Without more (personal) details, its hard to say.

It was my wreck last December. on application under "Have you ever been in a motor vehicle accident in which you were placed at fault and (CHARGED)" I answered "No". I disclosed the issue with the hiring agent and he couldn't give me a straight answer. BTW.. Not employed by said company yet just "Approved" for employment. currently waiting on driving record and all other records to be run.

Based on this explanation, it shouldn't be a big deal because you weren't charged, but they can still find you not a good match for position. Good luck.

You can check your driving record on the Virginia DMV website.

If it was never reported/charged, then it wouldn't show up on your DMV record.
It would show up on an insurance pull though.

mmhmm, most likely it isn't on there. Plus if you take an online driving safety course, you'll get +5 points on your record anyways.

Was the vehicle registered in your name? If the police got involved bet your ass it's on the DMV driving record, which you get in a matter of minutes from their website.

Source: someone crashed my bike once and before I could even have a say DMV put on my record single vehicle accident with me as the rider because the vehicle was in my name and the guy fled the scene after he wrecked
