Do NOT Install Internet Explorer 8 - April 29, 2009, 04:45 PM

What an unbelievable piece of junk. I still can't get my machine working right.

Add ons are disabled, homepage doesn't come up ... just terrible.

Gonna have to restore a ghost image, I guess.

First time i installed it, my pc just kept rebooting. I ended up rebuilding it because of a symantec issue and now i have IE8..its ok but like IE7 better. I had to install it to test some applications for work.

I wonder if this is the reason I've been having network issued. I installed a couple days ago, and now I can only access 1 webpage like 2 hours after I reboot my machine. I thought it was my new fios service, but maybe not. I don't even use IE, I use firefox, but I get the same issue with all browsers. :\

I'm a Google Chrome whore but on the Mac I have to use Firefox. Hopefully, Chrome will come out for Mac soon.

Did they release any updates for it. I used it for about a week when the first beta came out. Haven't really used it since. I guess I'm too used to FF.

We have been told at work not to install IE8 too.

Firefox is my browser of choice.

IE8 was supposed to manage memory by tabs, etc.... it's a huge fail...

Give them a week or so if anything. I'm sticking to firefox... Microsoft has a way of doing beta on release and fucking your whole system up, then loading 13 patch releases over the later weeks.... fuck you Bill Gates... you are an asshat.

I'm running it on Vista and it runs flawlessly. I code with it a bit too and it has been super stable doing that also (and I suck at coding) so if it can continue to persevere with my terrible coding skills then I am quite impressed.

I love the icon start page with my most frequently visited pages and the incognito mode is great for pr0n. It runs super smooth and very reliably along with being way faster then any of the other browsers I have loaded.

It starts faster, loads pages faster and runs java MUCH better. If a page shits the bed on you all you have to do is shut down the one tab. There is no need to restart the entire app.

Needless to say I have barely even played with IE8 and FF is collecting dust. I only really use IE8 to access OWA since it won't display properly.
