Do you want to build your on AK? - September 17, 2015, 11:41 AM

This is from Historic Arms and Jason Gibbens who races for RNR cycles. He also teaches the CHP classes at the show.

Hello Again Everyone!

After our last email we got lots of interest in our AK Build Day from everyone in NoVA. We had lots of requests for one to be held in the NoVA area, so we are going to have a AK Build Day at the Nations Gun Show in Chantilly VA. Oct 3rd, at 1:00pm to 6:00pm. If there is enough interest there may be another AK Build Day on Sunday the 4th at 1:00pm to 6:00pm as well. We will also need everyone that wants to join us for this AK Build Day to Sign Up/Reserve kits ASAP so that we can make sure all the parts/pieces are here in time for the builds. I know its short notice!

We also got better pricing on our parts kits this go around and bought some more Polymer Stock kits and some Under Folding Stock kits as well. See the new prices below. We saved, so you saved too!

Wouldn’t it be a lot of fun to build your very own AK-47? It seems everyone is building AR’s, but very few are building AK’s. This is a chance of a lifetime to learn about the AK pattern rifles by getting your hands dirty and building it yourself!

The parts kits are mostly numbers-matching except for the front trunnion. All journals are measured, as well as the parts to be pressed to make sure the fit is correct. The headspace has been checked and set with a GO gauge, with a live round (not fired just for testing the bolt closing) then with a NO-GO gauge. After setting the headspace, the barrel pin hole has been drilled and reamed for the new barrel pin. The pin is pressed most of the way through so it can be pressed back out to remove the barrel to install rivets during the build process.

The rear sight, gas block, and front sight will be pressed on and pinned to a brand new US made barrel. A special fixture is used to make sure each piece fits correctly and to ensure proper alignment on the barrel.

We have all the necessary licenses to do this legally, FFL, Manufacturing, etc.

These would be 100% legal by all Federal and Virginia state laws, 922r compliant, serialized firearms when finished, and you will go home with a complete custom rifle at the end of the day. Remember to bring 2 forms of ID!

Complete Kits will include a de-milled AK parts kit, new barrel, new receiver, and new parts for 922r compliance.

These prices are all inclusive (Taxes, Transfers etc..) for the AK Build Day.

Fixed Wooden Stock Kit $850.00 (New Wooden Stocks)

Fixed Polymer Stock w/Quad Rail Kit $900 (New Polymer Stocks & Quad Rail)

Fixed Polymer Stock $850 (New Polymer Stocks)

Underfolder Stock Kit $775.00 (Used Wood Handguards & Pistol Grip)

Underfolder Stock Kit $785.00 (New Polymer Handguards & Pistol Grip)

The receivers will be a New US made AK-47 Premium Receiver with Black Oxide Finish built to the specifications to match the strength and quality of the original factory military receivers (in semi auto 762 x 39). These are professionally built to correct specifications and Fully Heat Treated to insure solid AK build & proper function.

These prices are all inclusive (Taxes, Transfers etc..) for the AK Build Day.

Contact me by replying to this email, or you can call me on my cell at 571-237-9138.
If I do not answer please leave a message and I will get back to as soon as I can.

Hope to see you all soon!

Damn that's tempting. I hope there's enough interest for another such event in the future cause I'm not in a spot to do this now.

Lol... Am I the only one who was buying back in 05 when Romy kits were $89. And the milled yugos were almost thrown in for free

less if you bought pallet quantities.

They were just silly cheap to build back then and you didn't have to replace the barrels like you do now (thanks to stupid laws that now require them to be cut).

Hell for what a parts kit costs now I can get into an AR.
