Thumbs up Duke Lacrosse Charges Dropped - April 12, 2007, 08:49 AM

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070411/D8OEJ3VO2.html

About damn time. I was on campus las weekend visiting my little sister. They've been expecting this for quite some time.

Unfortunately, they're not going to pursue charges against the girl that ruined these kids' lives. The parents of one of the guys have vowed to go after Nifong and everyone else involved and apparently have the financial means and connections in the legal world to do so. I'm gonna sit back with my popcorn and cheer them on. Duke Lacrosse offense fund anyone?

Most importantly it looks like justice has been served. Even the highly measured statements from what we'll call the "activist" community seem to be conceding that the accusations were not credible.

It's not in the interests of the accused to push for a vendetta against their false accuser. That would only reinvigorate the racial and economic outrage that pitted everyone against them in the first place. The best course of action is the one they're taking: make life a living hell for Nifong and turn the system upside down with lawsuits asserting how badly it ran amok in a furor fueled by race, class, politics, and media. Go after Duke and anybody else they can to recoup their legal fees.

Quoted from AIM. A conversation with Dwight about him and Ben.
"cpsdwight: i couldnt believe that i was keeping him up"

Harvey - "I can't date fat chicks man, there's just too much material there. Someone's gotta be thin in the relationship and it's obviously not me."
