Dulles Toll Road rate hike - August 17, 2009, 06:49 PM

Looks like they want another $0.25 rate hike in 2010 at the main and exit booths and ANOTHER $0.25 at the main toll in 2012. If you'd like to voice your concern about yet another gouging by the Washington Metro Airports Authority, you can do so online:
http://www.metwashairports.com/_/fil...2009_08_14.pdf

There are also four open forums to show up at if you'd like to let them know how you feel in person.
Monday, August 24 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Ashburn Elementary School
44062 Fincastle Drive, Ashburn, VA 20147

Thursday, September 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m
McLean High School
1633 Davidson Road, McLean, VA 22101

Wednesday, September 9 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m
South Lakes High School
11400 South Lakes Drive, Reston, VA 20191

Personally, I'd just like to see where all that money goes first before we start handing over even more money.

I'm on the fence. I'm glad the toll road is the toll road. There are people that avoid the toll road precisely because there is a toll. This helps reduce the traffic volume so that the average pace is quicker.

That said, the toll road is actually often packed anyway. Imagine how congested and useless it would be if it there was no toll?

For the sake of actually weeding some of that traffic out, so that when I have a need to get that direction rapidly I can, I'm willing to pay an expensive toll.

To those that rely on it daily for their commute, you have a choice. Leave earlier and use a different route.

If it would take too long to go some other route. Move.

If you're an owner and moving isn't an option. Sorry bub, you're lieing in the bed you made, you had a choice before purchase.

I guess I made my mind up. +1 for the hike

Damn I'm a cold bastard.
