Equus Automotive ULTIMATE muslce car? - September 25, 2013, 05:27 PM

Equus Automotive - Unique driving sensation

Equus Bass 770

Think of the Equus Bass 770 ($250,000) as the perfect compromise between fastback muscle car beauty and power and the reliability and comfort of a modern ride. On first glance, it looks like they took all the best parts of Mustangs, Challengers, and Chargers and mashed them together to form this retro stunner — but this is a built-from-scratch machine that looks better than each of those cars on its own. It's also powered by a 640 horsepower supercharged aluminum V8, giving it significantly more oomph than most other modern muscle cars coming out of Detroit (albeit at a significantly-higher price).

LOL - I saw Equus, and thought, "Who in their right mind would call a Hyundai an ultimate muscle car."

Agreed. I'll take a 2014 GT500 any day over that and bank the rest of the money.

Thats what I get for reading fast at first....thought it said 25,000 and was all HMMMMM, maybe....then read again and saw the other zero and was all NOPE.

I will wait for the Top Gear team to test it out and be impressed.

+1

Nothing wrong with what has already been done.

Buy something historic and have a piece of muscle car history. There is nothing that will be memorable about that car as it is merely copies of others.

Tough crowd! Lets be honest here. We judge but have no idea of it's performance. What would you say if it hung around with a 911 turbo, or say a Ferrari? Both are brands capable of charging north of 250k.

I personally can't afford a 250k car right now. If I had millions? Sure it would be cool to own a unique American small businesses take on what muscle should look like. After all, you see many of these car shows where they find small production numbered cars from companies most can't remember. This could be one of those. At the very least this is something that looks good. The price tag might be set above my means, doesn't mean I can't enjoy the thought behind their product. Or the stones and smarts it took to take a leap into the market.

For 250K, I would still prefer a historic muscle car with updated powertrain.
