You got to get your exercise on. And luckily McRibs are only intermittent.

You could exercise till you kill yourself and if you genetically have high blood pressure or high cholesterol diet/exercise isn't going to matter.
My blood tests came back showing I don't eat much fatty foods etc so my doctor knew there wasn't anything i could do differently. Exercise can help increase your HDL so it can lower your LDL but when your blood pressure is like 160/100 and your not really overweight it's time for some help.
Don't wait till your 40 to think now's the time. I had high blood pressure when I was in my teens. I played sports, lifted weights, road a bike everywhere I went, had below 10% body fat and still had high blood pressure.
It is the silent killer for a reason, I don't feel any better now that my pressure is where it's suppose to be then when it was sky high.
Stress is also one of those things that really can't be measured but takes a huge toll on you physically.

Oh and Fuck your, "42 is old" LOL!

Only because those fuckers didn't take care of themselves. Like Zagg87t said. Get physicals. Know your numbers. If you get a second chance, fix that shit.

The difference is that you knew your numbers and did something about it. Most people don't get their numbers or when they do, don't get help. If they feel fine then "I'm Healthy". Next thing you know....worm food.

I have family issues like this so I'm at the doctor getting a physical every year. I know guys at my job that will only go see a doc when something hurts - maybe once every couple of years. Bad practice if you ask me. Hell, I've already had my first prostate exam and I'm not 40 yet. Blood pressure is good and cholesterol is a bit elevated but my problem are those damn milk shakes from Chick-Fil-A. In the summer its peach and now they have peppermint. I'm addicted to them.

When I was doing electrical work the owner died of colon cancer. He was one of those old guys that never went to the doctor. He had been having some blood in his stool but never went to see about it.
One morning he went to the bathroom and blood just started flowing out.
Went to the doctor then of course.
By this time, his cancer was so extensive he was dead in 3 months.

I'd rather be uncomfortable in the privacy of my doctors office for a few minutes getting checked out then end up dead simply because I was too embarrassed to go.
My doc is very gentle if anyone needs a reference

Blood (serum) cholesterol has no coloration to cholesterol in foods and frankly foods that are said to raise cholesterol do it in negligible amounts. Your body is pretty good at regulating cholesterol (which occurs normally BTW) unless you have a illness. I'm just pointing that out. Old myth from the 80's that wont die. Like egg yolks are bad for you too. False.

This is typically a problem with Black men. Only god knows why. Rather silly if you ask me.
