External devices crashing a computer program

External devices crashing a computer program - May 16, 2012, 08:46 PM

Any time I connect or disconnect some USB storage devices, insert an SD card, or connect an HDMI cable or change the TV input while the HDMI cable is connected my aircraft tracking program crashes.

I'm running Win7 Home Prem 64bit

And I get this

That info might mean something to the developers, but isn't really useful to anyone else. Have you contacted the publisher of the software?

Did you check the thread I linked or other threads? it appears you're not the only one having the issue.

You may want to use Windows XP mode to run it (assuming you have Win 7 pro)

I've read a bunch of different threads, but none have a correlation to external devices. Its runs perfectly otherwise.

So, although you only experienced it with external devices, it appears your problem is related to others on that forum who have issues with windows 7. My guess is the developers should get crackin on a patch that makes it more stable under 7.

You could also try compatibility mode by right clickin the shortcut and setting it to XP. If that works, it's less intrusive than XP mode.
