I've been following F1 since the late 90's and I never saw something like that happen before. I've seen one upper control arm break and the wheel goes flopping - but nothing like someone lighting detonators simultaneously in both A-arms.

Oh well, open wheels in F1 add major drag. Everyone is trying to cheat this this season by adding some variant of McLarens "F-Duct"

I guess Buemi's engineers designed a way to reduce that drag in the straights by ejecting the major drag component. Good for one use only though.

I've seen this a few time also, never both arms though. The good thing he was going straight and slowing down.
