F1 Explosion in Barcelona - May 13, 2012, 08:31 PM

Don't know how many of you guys watch F1 but I didn't see this on the tv coverage while I was watching.

Explosion happens in Williams team garage shortly after Pastor Maldonado wins F1 race

I watched the entire race this morning and the secondary coverage.
They mentioned nothing of this.

And why the hell was Speed broadcasting soccer after the race?!

Because it was the last week of the EPL and Man City won the championship after 45 years of drought not to mention possible bankruptcy just a year ago before Abu Dhabi decided to buy and spend $1.5 billion on them.

Soccer isn't on my radar. Didn't know the importance.

They cannot charge you if you install a dish. It's illegal. FCC law says you have the right to select the provider of your choice and install the equipment necessary to receive the signal regardless of community bylaws.

Are you serious?! I didn't know that ish! You sure it applies to Texas as well? You know these fools make up their own rules. I'm going to check with those bastads tomorrow. I had to settle for Time Warner because of that.

FCC OTARD Rule

It trumps just about every State / County / Community Rule and specifically has a section speaking to the illegality of the charging of fees for a permit to install a dish.

The FCC allows some restrictions: For instance the dish has to be below a certain size, you cannot attached the dish to any common exterior elements, if they have established a common dish or dish area - you must use theirs. Or if you live in a Historic or Preservation site.

But based on what you imply, I doubt you fit under any of these restrictions.

Here's the section of the rule that speaks to why the $150 fee may be illegal.

Q: What is an unreasonable expense?
A: Any requirement to pay a fee to the local authority for a permit to be allowed to install an antenna would be unreasonable because such permits are generally prohibited. It may also be unreasonable for a local government, community association or landlord to require a viewer to incur additional costs associated with installation.

Scroll to the middle Turk. They call-out the general regulations on communities, condos, apartments.

Needless to say, I think you will be able to skirt the $150. Just attach this to your notice to the management company and remind them it's against Federal Law to charge you or restrict you from installing the dish in a proper manner.

They suspect that it had to do something with the proximity of the KERS High Voltage system to the race fuel area.
Static charge?
