Every time we hold our tongues instead of returning the sharp retort, show patience with another's faults, show a little more love and kindness, we are helping to stock-pile more of these peace-bringing qualities in the world instead of armaments for war. -- Constance Foster

Please see the following message from Director Springer…

The Federal Government in the Washington, D.C., area will close at 2:00 pm, today, Tuesday, February 13 due to pending inclement weather, except for emergency personnel.

Road conditions are expected to deteriorate later this afternoon and it is essential to get Federal workers home before dark so transportation authorities can treat the roads.

We will continue to monitor weather conditions and announce the status of Government for tomorrow as soon as possible.

Linda M. Springer
Director
U.S. Dept. of state

Ha! I left at 1:30

The roads are covered with sleet. Morons don't want to go faster than 30mph. Passed a few wrecks.

Helpful hint: Pop you wipers away from the windshield when you park tonight. Even better, remove the blade too.

Main roads are fine, side roads were a little slick but not very bad at all.
