Fell 20ft & Died After Diving For A Foul Ball - July 8, 2011, 01:13 PM

20 feet fall onto concrete.
After he fell and they were leaving the park, he was conscious and even asked officials to check on his son who he took to the game. But during the ride to the hospital he went into full cardiac arrest. :dis

Tragic.

Wasn't there a guy last year who fell off the 2nd story balcony of the Texas Rangers stadium after diving for a foul ball and going over the railing?

Baseball stadiums are going to have to start building these railings much higher or making them plexiglass like at hockey rinks to avoid lawsuits.

I'm pretty sure there are disclaimers on the back of the tickets that say, in much nicer words, if you fuck up and hurt yourself or die it is your own fault. They had someone fall and die at the texas stadium when it first opened and they changed the height of all the railings there because of it. I know at hockey games they make you aware of the danger of the puck leaving the ice and if that thing hits you, not the arena's problem.

Though if it hits you hard enough often you'll get a signed game puck and/or free tickets to another game.

I saw the video and that guy looked young and healthy. He must of had a genetic disposition to heart issues. Really sad.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility? You are responsible for your own actions? I am so fucking tired of the nanny state that lawyers and ultra-liberals have turned this country into. It was by his own actions he fell. He's the dumbass.

I wonder if the guy had drank enough beer to skew his judgement. And I think the stadium, team-owners, etc, should have full immunity from the consquences of this douchebags own actions.

Nahhhh...
Smacking your head on concrete can cause a number of post facto issues irrespective of your health or genetic dispositions.

People die every second, but whenever I see a video of it happen it always affects me.I saw three people murdered first person when I was a kid,I can't remember most of my life, but I remember those everyday.I only mention that because the guy's son was right there. He will never forget that day.

ALL MY HEROES ARE RUSSIAN...GO CAPS!

Well you see, Norm, it’s like this…A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.-Cliff Claven

Personal responsibility comments are fair but he was more likely just a regular fan excited at the opportunity to catch a ball and give it to his kid than a dumbass or douchebag. Definitely sad for his family.

I'm surprised no body finds this guys untimely death as funny as they did a few days ago when .net was having a laugh riot at the expense of a mudered child.

hmm?

Maybe later someone can post up some funny motivational posters, or hilarious photo shops... a lot of people on here seem to enjoy that kinda stuff.

Yep. This is somehow tragic, yet the little girl was funny.

Seriously dude? Have you ever tripped over your own feet? Maybe knocked your head on something? Would you consider yourself a dumbass douchebag? This was nothing more than a horrifically tragic accident. Guy took his kid to a ball game, made an effort to catch a ball, and consequently lost his life. Here you are assuming he was drunk and calling him names.
