Well, there's only so much peaceful protesting that is going to happen when the guys in the APCs and Body Armor decide to escalate and start shooting protestors in the face with less than lethal weapons, firing off gas canisters, and setting off flash bangs.

And arresting reporters, and shooting gas and flash bangs at news cameras... but yeah, the protesters are the aggressors here.

I would think so too.
I'm no chemist, but I'm guessing something in the Coke maybe neutralizes whatever Capsaicin compounds are in the tear gas particles.

Perfect example of escalation of force by BOTH sides.

Milk simply cools the pores of your skin longer then water and the soda just shocks it, neither actually dampen the effects...I'll take taser anyday before the spray or gas

If you are walking in the middle of the street, you deserve to be shot...

Everyday in DC these losers walk out in the middle of the road, right in front of traffic and act like it's their right to do so.

The other day I locked up both my tires and almost laid my bike down cause some 'lil thug' just walked straight out in front of me ... then he says "Awe Shit, you almost Decked it" and I'm thinking "No, you little piece of shit, I almost 'Decked' you"

Anyway, after listening to the interview with Brown's friend, I feel little to no sympathy.
Paraphrased Quotes:
"...we'z just walking down the street; in the middle of the street"
"...we were so close to his door that it ricochet off us and bounced back to him. I guess that got him a little upset."

Lastly I love how protests that turn into riots, always turn into 'Free Merchandise Day' ... lets protest racism by breaking into stores and committing crimes!

Get a clues idiots, and get the fuck out road!

Actually the lipids in milk solubilize capsaicin, the lipid-soluble compound in peppers that stimulates pain nerve fibers. Once solubilized, capsaicin is somewhat mobilized away from sites of action. Another effect of milk is attributable to a component protein called casein which binds to capsaicin and further mobilizes the spicy stuff.

I have no insight into why coca-cola may help at all. It's acidic so maybe phosphoric acid from coke reacts with capsaicin to form inactive salts that are then easily mobilized away from nerve fibers. However, I'm purely speculating.

Ok so enough of that. Where the gangbangers? Butthurt responses to another offensive OSD post in 3, 2, 1,..

If you throw shit at the police, they are going to throw non-lethal shit back at you. Just ask the kids at JMU a few years ago.

Just like the race track, a public roadway is not the place to protest.

Well, that's more than a little retarded.

The two share nothing in common.

It's comments like yours that make me lose hope in humanity. If you truly believe people should die then you are a very troubled person.

Both the street and track have vehicles traveling at speeds that are deadly to a human upon contact. Both cases have protestors in the middle of them. If you can't see the similarities...

Death penalty for jay walking? Sounds fair.

What's the penalty for littering, 10yrs in Guantanamo?

Seek help before it's too late, and for God's sake don't reproduce.

You're a sick fuck.

So, a kid was shot in what is probably a bad shoot.

The response is widespread rioting and looting.

Then, police start cracking down.

Then, peaceful protests happen, and police continue to crack down.

Fuck looters. And fuck the militarization of the police.

Oh, and also, fuck race-baiting opportunists like sharpton, et al. Where were these faggots a few weeks ago when 60 black people were killed by other black people inside a single weekend in chicago.
