Ferrari Releases 599 GTO - May 5, 2010, 11:46 PM

O-M-G! The sound alone is worth the price of admission. Now let me go see if I can scrounge up $500,000

I first saw the 599 in dontwon Beijing!! Loved it since then!! WTF!! Still today it's hotter than ever!!

I did LOL when this stopped the car to 0mph @ :46 so let em rip!! Good god at 661 hp it can spin em anywhere short of 100mph!!

Can't choose between the R1 and the 10R so I am keeping both but settled with an 1198S when I came home

Keep it up!!!!!!!

WOW...i am not big on Ferrari's like that but if i could afford this and had it in the states...where could i open it up at? I mean really, whats the point of having it doing 55,70 on the highway...I think I would convince V-Dot and VSP to let me run it from dc to dumfries on the express lane one time...If i got $500K to blow i think i could pay them off at 20K

Nice car, amazing exhaust note, but so many driver aids its insane, I know you can turn a lot of them off, but in the end, there are still so many electronic aids its ridiculous. I feel like it would take away from the actual driving experience and skill that you as a driver put into it....just food for thought really and my $0.02

More and more cars are like this though, the exception being that there's no way to fully shut them all down.

very true, a lot of critics say that Porsche's are still very much "driver skill required" type cars, for instance with the 997 GT3RS

I got to drive one of those 2 years ago. Sweet. Midrange punch like no other. You have to steer it differently than any other car I've driven though. You don't steer it into the corner as much as you throw the front end at it and then use the gas pedal to control the arc and the front for counter correction.

Oh, definitely not fun on the street for long periods. Suspension is really track orientated.

About the same point as having bikes that can rip the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds...
