Just one of the reason's why I eschew working for any Public Sector jobs.
Working in the private sector at a public company is no better. Once you reach the Officer level, SEC's rules mandate you have to publish your compensation and you have restrictions placed on you w/respect to what you can do with your options and share grants.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

Database must not be too complete. I punched in a few names of people I know who have worked for the DoD, DIA, etc. for >7 years and nothing came up.

I wonder if there are any restrictions in terms of security level.
