gas station failed inspection? - September 14, 2009, 01:29 PM

I was in Herndon yesterday and stopped to fill up at sonoco on the corner of elden st and worldgate dr/parcher ave. When I pulled up I noticed a bright pink sticker on every pump that said something like "inspection failed". on the sticker it was hand written "failed drain". WTF does that mean? I would assume if it's something dangerous, or ripping off consumers, they would shut the station down until it's fixed.

I chose to not fill up and find a better place down the road

As long as it didn't fail "weights and measurements" they're not ripping you off. I've seen a few stations fail that, and they don't close them. If it's posted that they're not measuring accurately and you still choose to purchase it's on you.

Yeah I'd have to agree if it was dangerous they would have been shut down. Either way I would probably just go fill up elsewhere!
