7 Sinister Crypts Hidden Underneath The World’s Greatest Universities

Dahlgren Crypt, Georgetown University, Washington DC

Sitting in the center of the Georgetown University campus is the Dahlgren Chapel of the Sacred Heart, built in 1893 and donated as a gift in memory of the son of John Dahlgren. Above is the forbidding prospect that the chapelís crypt offers, glowing red in the evening light. Inviting? Not if you ended up trapped inside, entombed within the walls of cold stone before your time.

I don't know what the scoop is on getting in, but you can bet I'm gonna do the recon to find out. Hoping my cast comes off tomorrow, and then it's game on for night time black ops.

confused...what makes these so sinster?

or was that just the OP's spin on the title??? I was hoping to find out about some sort of secret sacrificial rituals or some shit where you get to bang the women before they are scarifices....I don't know some sort of carnal shit going on down there...that's what I was hoping to read about...

What do you value more? Life or Image?

I'd love to see a crypt sometime. Especially at Gtown. Does the lower level of the Basilica count as a crypt? It's been years...

I would assume it would be part of or close to the Dahlgren Memorial Chapel.

This is supposed to be an entrance to the underground tunnels below Georgetown.

/thread revival
So we got bored a few nights ago and went out and found this place. After navigating a fence around the building I was able to find the crypt entrance but sadly was locked up tight (although at even 4am the Chapel's main doors were unlocked and I'm sure if I could find another way down through the building). The entrance for the crypts looks a bit different now as the Chapel is under construction as part of a restoration project. Part of that project is to re-support the walls inside the underground section. Kind of think they maybe opening it all up for visitors when complete.

Would be cool if they did. Soon after posting this thread, I grabbed a coworker to go have a look one night. We found the same thing--locked up like fort knox outside and no easy way in from inside the building.

Also been trying to get into the main bell tower of Heely Hall, but nothing doing. The top floor, from which that thing is surely accessed, is completely sealed off as admin offices or some bullshit.

Well there is one dark corner in Healy Hall to which I found access a while back... and I'm alive to tell.
