Getting cooler outside... What kind of liquor? - October 10, 2008, 02:11 PM

As it is Friday and all I'm thinkin about stoping by the liquor store.. I usually get some rum (regular ol' Bacardi Superior) but with it getting cooler out I'm more in the mood for some dark liquor... A good whiskey seems like a good choice. I'm a big fan of Knob Creek.. Any other suggestions. Please don't say Jack.

For your suggestions, Please list:

Name:
Type:
Average price:

Thanks.

Jameson

or for un-ghey mix Grand Mariner, Kahlua and Amarula Cream. Either one in a coffee will warm you up.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not a huge fan of Soco.. Maybe the black label though.. Hmm... Not to crazy about Vodka either, I have had a bottle of Grey Goose in my freezer for over a year now.... I also have a bottle of Tat

I've never had Glenlivet, what is it like? Is it a whiskey?

Glenlivet is a single malt scotch, and probably my favourite drink. But if you don't know what it is already, or don't like bourbon, scotch, whiskey... you won't be a fan.

What you need to be looking for is Wild Turkey American Honey... if you think Firefly the iced tea vodka is good, you should try some of the Wild Turkey.

Plain old Grand Mariner is okay. If you want some GOOOOOOD sippin' Grand Mariner, get either the Centenaire (100 year recipe) or the Cent-Cinquantenaire (150 year recipe). A bottle of the 150 will run you about $230 in VA, $175 in PA. But I usually get a bottle every year around the holidays!

Woodford Reserve FTW. Just as good as knob creek with a little less ass-kick and cheaper. I grew up in Kentucky (jokes inserted here) so I have a little knowledge of Bourbon. Can't go wrong with Maker's though...
